The ICFF was a great success! This was our first year participating in one of the best known contemporary furniture shows in the United States. The Jacob Javits Center was home to 600 participating exhibiters who came from all over the world. This was a truly international experience. I found myself speaking Dutch and German to a number of visitors who came to my booth! The overall response from architects and interior designers to Stylo Furniture & Design was very encouraging. Equally great was the response from retailers, representatives from the hospitality industry and exporters. The experience here was very rewarding and a great stepping stone to the future! Thanks to the great help of my wife Amy in representing my work, we’ve been able to take turns touring the show floor. Meeting many of the other exhibitors was a great experience for us, and we gained a lot of new inspiration for the days ahead. More specifically, we were mostly on the lookout for other work that could beautifully complement our own furniture pieces. Some of the exhibitors we met make and represent beautiful seating and lighting products. Our favorite seating designers were Bensen from Canada. The simple design and beautiful quality of their chairs would make a beautiful complement to our dining room table designs. Also, equally beautiful, was the work of Norman Cherner, VS America’s introduction of the Neutra furniture collection (http://www.vs-neutra.com), and Fritz Hansen’s Arne Jacobsen designs from Denmark. As for lighting, we really liked the work of Pablo USA and Marset from Barcelona. Visit their websites for inspiration and some great ideas! We look forward to being back at the ICFF next year!
