Client Reviews

“Randy has executed several major architectural commissions for our house, as well as large and small furniture commissions. His attention to detail unmatched and his works exhibit both outstanding appearance and great functionality.  None of our friends has seen anything like our new dressing room. Dealing with Randy is a pleasure—he comes on time, let’s himself in when we’re not around, leaves the house spic and span, and honors all commitments.”

“Randy built a custom furniture piece for a client of mine, beautifully designed and crafted, on time with delivery and excellent to deal with about details. I’ve been a designer for 30 years and dealt with many cabinetmakers and furniture designers, and he is one of the best.”

“With his customer-sensitive design, fine craftsmanship and careful installation, Randy has transformed some hitherto ordinary spaces in our house. The double-sided mirrored door and linen closet in the masterbath; the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall sliding shoji doors in the adjacent dressing room; the wall-hung, corner-hugging teak cabinet in the upstairs bath: all are highly functional yet please the eye.”

“The front portion of the Jin Soon Natural Hand & Foot Spa on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (Jin Soon’s third location) is the most public and visible area of the spa and as such, requires custom made furniture that reflects the elegant simplicity that the Jin Soon Spas are well known for. I hired Randy Hornman to build this furniture from what could best be described as sparsely detailed, incomplete drawings. In effect, I was asking Randy to be a partner in my design by filling in the missing elements.  To my overwhelming satisfaction, Randy did so, and of equal importance, his work was well crafted and durable—not an easy task considering the delicate nature of the design.  At each threshold stage of constructing the furniture, Randy consulted with me via drawings or by inviting me to his shop.  The resulting collaboration yielded the highest quality work I could ever have imagined.”
